What does a trip to Ivory Coast cost?

Ivory Coast is cheap once you are there and expensive to get to. The flight and the visa are the two large fixed costs; everything after that — food, transport, most accommodation — runs well below European prices. This page gives real figures rather than ranges, with three example budgets for ten days. Prices are what we see in Abidjan; they move, so treat them as orientation rather than quotation.

The currency is pegged to the euro
The CFA franc is fixed against the euro at 655.957 to 1, so there is no exchange-rate risk and no reason to shop around for rates. Cards work in hotels, larger restaurants and supermarkets. Markets, maquis, taxis and anything outside Abidjan are cash. Withdraw in the city before heading inland; ATMs thin out fast.
